Title: Mistakes
Author: [personal profile] jordannamorgan
Archive Rights: Please request the author’s consent.
Rating/Warnings: Mild PG for captivity/threats.
Characters: Leo, Zapp, Klaus.
Setting: General.
Summary: A neglected piece of information leaves Leo hanging.
Disclaimer: They belong to Yasuhiro Nightow. I’m just playing with them.
Notes: Written for a small-fandoms amnesty challenge at [community profile] hc_bingo, to fill the prompts of “alien abduction” and “falsely imprisoned”. I decided to incorporate the mistaken-identity element from BBB’s first episode, while combining it with the trope of Leo’s frequent capture by non-human bad guys.

Leonardo Watch was still trying to figure out how he’d gotten into this fix. )

Title: Bedtime Story
Author: [personal profile] jordannamorgan
Archive Rights: Please request the author’s consent.
Rating/Warnings: G.
Characters: Jimmy (Conan) and Rachel.
Setting: The night after Jimmy’s age was regressed.
Summary: Jimmy receives an unexpected comfort while facing his first nights as Conan.
Disclaimer: “Detective Conan/Case Closed” belongs to Gosho Aoyama.
Notes: Just a rather random idea that came to me. It fills the prompt of nightmares at [community profile] hc_bingo.

On my first night as Conan Edogawa, I slept on the Moores’ living-room sofa. )
jordannamorgan: Robin, "Teen Titans". (Titan Robin)
[personal profile] jordannamorgan
Title: Step Into the Dark
Author: [personal profile] jordannamorgan
Archive Rights: Please request the author’s consent.
Rating/Warnings: G.
Characters: Robin, Slade, and a few brief glimpses of the other Titans.
Setting: During “Apprentice, Part 2”, in between the two thefts by Robin that are shown in canon.
Summary: As Slade’s apprentice, Robin receives the one order he fears most.
Disclaimer: They belong to DC Comics and Cartoon Network. I’m just playing with them.
Notes: This fic fills the prompt extortion at [community profile] hc_bingo. Because Slade’s forcing Robin to be his apprentice is pretty much the most fascinating bit of fictional extortion ever—and there’s so much wonderfully angsty, twisted-psychology meat to work with in the dynamic between these two awesome characters. To be clear about the timing of events, the idea here is that Slade sent Robin on (at least) one other heist, in between his theft of the thermal blaster and his forced battle with the other Titans.

Breaking into Com-Alpha Laboratories was all too easy. )

Title: Him
Author: [personal profile] jordannamorgan
Archive Rights: Please request the author’s consent.
Rating/Warnings: PG for dark themes and in-canon character death.
Characters: Edward, Trisha, Alphonse.
Setting: Pre-series AU. Based on first anime canon, but as an AU, it should work all around.
Summary: Edward’s mother makes a deathbed confession that shakes his entire world.
Disclaimer: They belong to Hiromu Arakawa. I’m just playing with them.
Notes: I’ll be up-front and admit that this “Things That Never Happened” story somewhat borrows from myself. However, while it involves an idea I’ve used before, it’s a very different variation on it… and perhaps an even creepier one. Trisha’s suggested actions would be highly out of character in canon, so please bear in mind that this is (if you take the claims as fact) a rather extreme AU; and looking at unlikely, often-dark twists is, after all, the whole point of the “Never Happened” series.
This story is submitted as an extra treat (or rather a “trick”) for [archiveofourown.org profile] apgeeksout in the 2014 [community profile] trickortreatex. It also fills the prompt Families at both [community profile] genprompt_bingo and [community profile] hc_bingo, and the prompt AU: Other at [community profile] trope_bingo.

Edward Elric didn’t need to be told that his mother was dying. )

Title: Missing
Author: [personal profile] jordannamorgan
Archive Rights: Please request the author’s consent.
Rating/Warnings: G.
Characters: Alphonse and Wrath.
Setting: First anime. Takes place at the end of the series.
Summary: As Al struggles with his lost memory, Wrath struggles with something else.
Disclaimer: They belong to Hiromu Arakawa. I’m just playing with them.
Notes: Written for the prompt word “amnesia” at [community profile] hc_bingo. This isn’t going to go down as one of my favorite works, but it filled the requirements of the word, and it possibly offers a very small glimpse into Wrath’s reason for disappearing. (And for any fans of my revisionist opus “Blood Ties”… this also provides a slight foreshadowing for its future sequel.)

The photographs lay scattered in front of Alphonse on the dining room table. )

Title: Appearance
Author: [personal profile] jordannamorgan
Archive Rights: Please request the author’s consent.
Rating/Warnings: G.
Characters: Edward, Alphonse, brief glimpse of Winry.
Setting: Late in the recovery process after the Elrics’ failed human transmutation.
Summary: It was the first time Ed had thought of what others would see when they looked at him.
Disclaimer: They belong to Hiromu Arakawa. I’m just playing with them.
Notes: Written for the prompt “body image issues” at [community profile] hc_bingo. I thought it would be rather different to explore Ed’s feelings about his post-transmutation appearance, instead of Al’s.

Until today, he really hadn’t given a thought to how he looked. )

Title: Touch
Author: [personal profile] jordannamorgan
Archive Rights: Please request the author’s consent.
Rating/Warnings: G.
Characters: Noa, Edward.
Setting: First anime. After Conqueror of Shamballa.
Summary: What she marveled at was the fact that he was freely willing to touch her.
Disclaimer: They belong to Hiromu Arakawa. I’m just playing with them.
Notes: Written for the prompt “ostracized from society” at [community profile] hc_bingo, as a wild card entry. I almost never write fanfic that accepts the events of Conqueror of Shamballa, but I have sometimes thought that Noa’s mistreatment by her own people would be an interesting point to examine. The prompt gave me an opportunity to do so.

He only smiled with a rueful sweetness, and offered her his hand… and asked her what she saw. )

Title: Intervention
Author: [personal profile] jordannamorgan
Archive Rights: Please request the author’s consent.
Rating/Warnings: G.
Characters: Edward, Hakuro, Bradley, Alphonse, Hughes, Envy, Mustang. Brief appearances by Lust and Hawkeye.
Setting: First anime. Between episodes 24 and 25.
Summary: General Hakuro has questions for Ed about Lab Five.
Disclaimer: They belong to Hiromu Arakawa. I’m just playing with them.
Notes: Written for the prompt interrogation at [community profile] hc_bingo. I had long been looking for a chance to show General Hakuro being nasty, because he’s really a villain who slips under the radar. (Almost no one seems to realize he was leading the soldiers who attacked Rose in Liore. In fact, given what’s implied in later episodes, my personal assumption is that Hakuro fathered Rose’s child.)

The soldier who relayed General Hakuro’s request for an interview was extremely polite. )

Title: Grace
Author: [personal profile] jordannamorgan
Archive Rights: Please request the author’s consent.
Rating/Warnings: Mild PG for the subject matter.
Characters: Edward, Winry.
Setting: Between the Elrics’ failed human transmutation and Ed’s automail surgery.
Summary: Those he had hurt were the very ones he could still lean on.
Disclaimer: They belong to Hiromu Arakawa. I’m just playing with them.
Notes: Written for the prompt “loss of limb” at [community profile] hc_bingo. This is a companion piece to one of my older ficlets, “Imposture”.

Oh, get in there. Stop slipping already. )
