Setting: Pre-series AU. Based on first anime canon, but as an AU, it should work all around.
Summary: Edward’s mother makes a deathbed confession that shakes his entire world.

Notes: I’ll be up-front and admit that this “Things That Never Happened” story somewhat borrows from myself. However, while it involves an idea I’ve used before, it’s a very different variation on it… and perhaps an even creepier one. Trisha’s suggested actions would be highly out of character in canon, so please bear in mind that this is (if you take the claims as fact) a rather extreme AU; and looking at unlikely, often-dark twists is, after all, the whole point of the “Never Happened” series.
This story is submitted as an extra treat (or rather a “trick”) for apgeeksout in the 2014 trickortreatex. It also fills the prompt Families at both genprompt_bingo and hc_bingo, and the prompt AU: Other at trope_bingo.

Summary: It was the first time Ed had thought of what others would see when they looked at him.

Notes: Written for the prompt “body image issues” at hc_bingo. I thought it would be rather different to explore Ed’s feelings about his post-transmutation appearance, instead of Al’s.

Notes: Written for the prompt interrogation at hc_bingo. I had long been looking for a chance to show General Hakuro being nasty, because he’s really a villain who slips under the radar. (Almost no one seems to realize he was leading the soldiers who attacked Rose in Liore. In fact, given what’s implied in later episodes, my personal assumption is that Hakuro fathered Rose’s child.)
